Already?

The end of October is almost here.. already! I can't believe we're starting into November right away. This month took so long, but now I can't believe it's over. School was very hectic for me, and there is still more to come, but it won't be as busy, thankfully. Life is very "normal" right now, but at the same time, a lot of fun. I feel happier than I've been in awhile, and not that I was unhappy before, but I just feel lighter and more care-free, even though I really don't think I have fewer cares than before. I'm just enjoying life.

On a side note - you know what I really dislike is when you heat up food in the microwave and then go to check it and the bowl is super hot so you think, "It must be ready..." But then you take it out and sit down to eat it, and it's only semi-warm! :S and you really don't want to get up and put it back in so you just put up with semi-warm food. Well that's what I'm doing right now... eating semi-warm food and trying to be content because I really don't want to put in the microwave again. It's kind of ironic, because I am trying to be content, which seems so "virtuous", but in reality, I'm just lazy.

Well on to the next topic. :) Sammy and I had people over twice in the last couple weeks for games nights. We really enjoy those and have begun collecting, so hopefully soon we will have a large arsenal to choose from on future games nights. The first night we played was with some of my friends from high school. We played a game called Ticket to Ride twice in a row because we all love it, haha :P I'm addicted now. That is one game I would really like to buy, except the only place in Saskatoon that I know has it is charging $70! So I'm trying to find it online for cheaper. Then last night we had a missional community games night with some Mario Kart Wii, Catch Phrase and Taboo. All fun times... ooh I want another games night already! Board games are the best - I'm still looking for people who actually like Monopoly to play with me. Everyone seems to hate that game, but it's such a classic! :P Another game I found online is Clue: The Office. Haha, I sound like such a game nerd, but that really suits Sammy & me to a tee! We love The Office; it's the only show that Sammy can watch reruns of over and over. We also both really like Clue, so I think it would be a sweet addition to our games collection. But enough about games. :P

I had a really nice day with my husband today. Unfortunately, yesterday, he fell from a ladder and hurt his back. He is doing okay, just very sore. The one plus from this though, was that he got to stay home with me today! :D We slept in a little bit, then ran some errands together, and as boring as errands are, it was so nice to do them together. So first we went to the doctor, then the X-ray clinic, then Zellers (to look for The Office of course :P) and finally to ICBM to drop off the doctor's form. Then, since we were in the area, we also stopped at Parables and it was quite the successful stop; successful for Parables because we spent $80, but also successful for us because Sam got some new books that he's already dug into and is really enjoying, & I also picked up some things for me, which include some Christmas CD's and a book. I'm normally one who hates anything too Christmassy before December 1st, late November at the earliest, but I saw the displays of Nativity scenes and a section of Christmas CD's and I got all warm & fuzzy and just couldn't resist, so I got a pack of 3, and the new Chris Tomlin Christmas CD and I've been playing them most of the day. The book I got is called "The Power of a Praying Wife" by Stormie Omartian. I've never heard of her so I have no idea what her theology is like or anything, but I skimmed a little and the topic is great, so hopefully the book is too. It was on sale for $5 so I figured that if it wasn't that great of a book, then it wouldn't be too big of a loss. Anyways, I'll let you know if it is any good soon because I'm excited to delve into it. Well that's pretty much our day. Once we got home, Sam read and I did some homework (and played some Mario Kart :P) and now he's sleeping and I, for some reason, am not. I kind of just felt like posting because it's been so long. At first I wasn't sure what I would say, but was just hoping the words would flow, and as you can see, they did. But now I really am quite tired, so hopefully I can sleep right away. Good night all!

YES I was thinking we would have to have one of those into the early mornings games of Monopoly. Then we can all be up playing when Tanis is up for her middle of the night snack. :)
And I plan to beat Paul this time!

Semi-warm food...is there anything worse?! I had to laugh to myself when you were disguising your laziness with virtuous content. So true, so true.

It was so nice to have you guys over tonight, and now that I know you love board games, well, you're even more welcome at our house! :) Ticket To Ride rocks -- we don't have it either, but I wish we did.
